Poll: How much money will your household spend this Christmas?

A report shows expected spending is up across the country this year.

BETWEEN FOOD, DRINK, presents and decorations, December is set to be an expensive month for a lot of households.

A new report from Ibec has found that households will spend an average of €2,587 this December, about €720 more than any other month of the year.

This is up €26 from last year, according to the report.

Competition between retailers is keeping prices low, while disposable income is up on average across the country – contributing to the expected rise in spending this year.
